Originally from Nebraska, Sarah has devoted her career to working with seniors and building stronger, more connected communities. For the past eight years in Florida, she has focused on engaging adults 55 and better by connecting them with meaningful volunteer opportunities that help nonprofits fulfill their missions through Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay. Guided by her belief that older adults bring invaluable wisdom, experience, and compassion to the communities they serve, Sarah has also helped create the Senior Disaster Support Program, which empowers neighbors to support one another during hurricanes and other emergencies. Through her work, she continues to champion the vital role seniors play in strengthening nonprofits, enriching neighborhoods, and supporting each other in times of need. She is a firm believer that powerful storytelling inspires and that community connection is vital to positive aging, which led her directly to SAGES.
