Come one, come all to our SAGES OPEN Auditions! Experienced actors and newbies all welcome. We have roles for those mostly age 50+ — lots for 60+, a couple for 40-60, and ONE for a young female (to play age 12-15). Audition includes cold readings from our scripts. If you are new to SAGES and have a resume/headshot, please bring it with you. If not, we will take a photo at auditions. If you have not already completed an audition form this year, please click the link below to do so.

Show dates are 2 Sundays and 2 Saturdays in October.

GRANDMA ROCKS

  (about navigating widowhood & legacy planning)

Grandma Rocks reveals the struggle a widow, living comfortably with her daughter, faces when her contentment with memories is rocked by the appearance of a sweetheart from her youth.  

Does she risk her heart and jeopardize everything over a man she hasn’t seen in 50 years? Or get off her rocker and try for the brass ring on the Merry-Go-Round of love to start anew? 

Edited from the first play written by Linda Goldman, this new Play with Purpose looks at the challenges of Golden Age relationships and the legacies they leave. 

Characters (range from young teen to 80+):
Rose  – age 75-80, widowed mother/grandmother 

Jane – age 55-60, Rose’s daughter

Steve – age 60-65, Jane’s husband

Jill – age 12-15, Jane’s youngest granddaughter

Carl – age 75-80, widower 

Barb – age 75-80, friend of Rose

George – age 55-60, quirky neighbor

Kay – age 60-70, friend of Rose

DIRECTIONS to Auditions: Temple B'nai Israel is located on Belcher Rd between Belleair Rd and East Bay Dr. Look for the SAGES signs to turn east on Kersey Rd and enter the parking lot BEHIND the Temple. We will meet in the back all-purpose building. (There will be no access to the front of the Temple building, so do not park or try to enter there.)
