***We are casting TWO different Plays with Purpose***

Come one, come all to our SAGES OPEN Auditions! Experienced actors and newbies all welcome. We have roles for those mostly age 50+ — lots for 60+, a couple for 40-60, and ONE for a young female (to play age 12-15). Auditions include cold readings from our scripts. If you are new to SAGES and have a resume/headshot, please bring it with you. DEAL MAKER

  (about safe driving & maintaining indepedence)

A man is caught in the middle when his wife wants

the car keys taken from his aging father. With no tickets in his lifetime of driving, Pop disagrees. But after some minor

fender-benders, he becomes the Deal Maker to keep them

hush-hush with his granddaughter as co-conspirator in this comical Play with Purpose. 

Characters (range from young teen to 60+): 

Bob - Lovable but cantankerous family patriarch

Mae - Bob’s older sister who plays it safe

Matt - Bob' Son, busy criminal defense attorney

Ashley - Bob's Granddaughter (under driving age)

Laura - Matt’s sassy office manager

Rhonda: Nurse

Curly Top: Walk-on role 

MEMORY LANE

(about Caregiving for those with cognitive impairment)

Living with memory loss is not for the faint of heart. This poignant collection of true stories reveals the roller coaster of emotions experienced while caregivers navigate this unexpected journey with those they love. Relatable characters will have audiences laughing out loud and thoughtfully savoring the satisfying moments when unique challenges are met with success.

Characters (age range 50-100):

Liz – caregiver training facilitator
Nick – retired restauranteur
Nora – Nick’s wife, concerned for older sister
Nikki – daughter of Nick & Nora, social worker
Danny – caregiver for father
Ralph – older caregiver for spouse
Mary Martha – Ralph’s wife, clueless and sweet
Father O’Brien – Ralph & Mary Martha’s Catholic priest
Jane – retiree whose mother lives with her
Anna – Jane’s online therapist
Ken – retiree whose spouse is in memory care

All auditions are conducted as cold readings from the script.
Our Resident Director for all 2026 productions is Rachel Fennell.

***NOTE*** Those auditioning will also be considered for our 3rd

Play with Purpose production, GRANDMA ROCKS, in October

and may be asked to come back and read with other actors

closer to when those rehearsals will begin (end of July).

DIRECTIONS to Auditions: Temple B'nai Israel is located on Belcher Rd between Belleair Rd and East Bay Dr. Look for the SAGES signs to turn east on Kersey Rd and enter the parking lot BEHIND the Temple. We will meet in the back all-purpose building. (There will be no access to the front of the Temple building, so do not park or try to enter there.)
